Do you have a large group that enjoys history?

Think of the impact of having some of America’s most important historical personages attend your function.

The American Institute on Living History (AILH) can provide Julia Child, Malcolm X, Eleanor Roosevelt, Babe Ruth or Harry Truman, plus many, many other historical first-person portrayals for your group.

The AILH is designed to bring some of the best Chautauqua-style historical portrayals to museums, libraries, political groups, association gatherings, educational settings and to historical and humanities societies throughout America.  This means that if “Julia Child,” for example, was invited to speak to your group, Karen Vuranch would present a 40-minute first-person portrayal of Ms. Child.  It would not only be biographical but would seek to go to the very essence of the famous television chef.  Following the presentation, questions are answered in-person as Ms. Child, and the program would end with Ms. Vuranch, the scholar, responding to questions about Ms. Child.

The AILH is comprised of six nationally known historical scholars and Chautauqua performers.  Each has been carefully selected not only for the extensive research placed into character development, but for their ability to dramatically communicate their personage to the audience.  As a result, the AILH offers “good guys” and “bad girls.”  It features visionaries, failures and rabble-rousers.  All contributed in their unique way to change America.

Contact the American Institute on Living History to arrange for Frederick Douglass or maybe Carry A. Nation to appear before your group.  Please review the offerings of each scholar and choose those best-suited for your organization.
